What I Aspire to! The Big Why!

I want to write this post today in appreciation for all the information I received this past week at the Keller Williams Realty convention in New Orleans.

The confirmation is clear, that us as agents have spent the past year in a revolution.

We all know that the economy has changed but more so the face of real estate. Through all the for-closures, short sales, and market price adjustments KW agents have shifted. We have implemented resourcefulness, unity, and commitment to do the right thing. No other company has demonstrated culture and commitment for making a difference in the life of others and the communities in which they live, like KW has.

You see its not the brand that makes us important. Its the heart and soul of the agents that dedicate their lives everyday to to helping others around them. Its maximizing the possibilities of the 86,400 seconds in the day.

I love my community, I love the people, the choices that we have, and potential that we will grow to here in Forsyth County Ga over the next 10 years. I believe in it and I know that I will have a part in our success. Because it is what I aspire to and what I am willing to chase after everyday.

Diving Right In

Tuesday bids were awarded and work at the site off Pilgrim Mil will soon begin on the new aquatic center.

The plans for the aquatic center include two pools. One of the pools being Olympic sized 50 meter competition pool. The other will have a therapeutic pool area tied in with a regular pool for swim lessons. Also the center will feature a kiddie pool plus a lazy rivers spray and mushroom area outside.

Once the construction begins it will take around 18 months to complete.

First, Fastest, Strongest

The annual Native Intelligence economic report came out this week. Unveiled on Tuesday by creator Frank Norton Jr., at the Forsyth County Cumming Ga Chamber of Commerce meeting.

The economic report produced evidence that Forsyth Co. Cumming Ga is recovering from the economic downturn first, fastest, and the strongest.

Property in Forsyth Co. is selling faster and taditional businesses are returning to the county in confidence. Just like the four new retail shops I mentioned at The Avenues of of Forsyth in a previous blog.

Come one come all. There is room to grow. Norton also said that the area is under-retailed as a community. In his opinion by 50%. Which brings ample opportunity for retail business owners to get ahead.

Of course the key to maintaining this success is to buy local. In my opinion I think we will come out of this ahead of everyone else. I think house prices will rebound here first. We are seeing a movement in the higher end market that we have not seen in some time. Buyers are taking advantage of the sale. Everything that has come down will go up and we will be a richer community for it.

No Lights on at Home

Its like being on a bad game show, opening the envelope and knowing its a lose lose situation. Last month opening our electric bill could have sent me into cardiac arrest. It was the highest our bill had ever been. Lets just say it was double the normal rate. I am a practical person by nature. I never leave lights on throughout the house and most of the time during day light hours we never use them anyway. I had even purchased and began to use an energy efficient washing machine. We also use gas heat to spare the heat pump system. I unplug everything that is not in use because I understand that items pull energy even when turned off. We called the electrical company and they had experienced a high call volume regarding this issue. While there is some explanation of an increase due to a wholesale power cost adjustment. The remaining is a mystery! Seeing how we do not have much choice in our power source we are forced to pay an unbelievable increase. So to twist the knife in ones wound, inserted in this months electric statement was a somewhat comical helpful hints.

TURNING OFF THE LIGHTS CAN REALLY HELP YOUR BOTTOM DOLLAR:
Are you always looking for ways to save money? This one is a "no brainer."
Start 2010 off right by turning off lights when you do not need them.

6 New Forsyth County Schools by 2015?

Forsyth County Schools recently released new growth expectations. They are predicting nearly 43,000 students by the opening of the 2013-2014 school year. That's approximately 2,157 students entering the Forsyth Co. Cumming Ga school system per year. To accommodate this growth the county will require six new schools.

This information has been gathered to create a new local facilities plan. This plan will be used to explain to the state of Georgia what amount of funding Forsyth County School Systems will need from the state. It is estimated that the Forsyth County School System could receive as much as $36 million in funding due to student growth.

The previous plan that began in June 2006 planned for the opening of nine elementary, four middle and two high schools. Five of these campuses opened this school year and land has been bought for three of the six schools. Kelly Mill elementary, Pooles Mill elementary and East Forsyth High.

Of course it is understandable why so many are flocking to this great county and school system. We are consistently ranked as one of the fastest-growing economies in the nation due to the excellent quality of life our community offers. We have the right geography...less than an hour north of Atlanta and one of the strongest economic engines in the country. We have the right lifestyle attributes...Lake Lanier in our backyard, a world-class parks and recreation system, well-designed green space throughout the community and the right mix of residential, recreational and business to offer just about anything that people or businesses might need or desire. And, we have the right planning and leadership mindset within local government, business leadership and community - a synergy that says to anyone, "Forsyth County is where we need to be!" (Cumming Forsyth County Chamber of Commerce)
